Get The Look: Boho Glam
So I went for a Boho Glam look to shake it up a bit from my typical looks. This look is much lighter and more wearable so read on to learn how to get this look. So as always I started with my eyebrows. I am stillllllll in my awkward grow out phase and they require a lot of product to make them even. You will not need this many eyebrow products unless you are also growing out your eyebrows or just haven't gone for a wax in a while and need to tame and blend them.
I use my trusted Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz on my inner brow to create small hair like strokes, then used the Brow Definer to sketch out the rest of them. I set my masterpiece with her Clear Brow Gel.
To make my eyebrows look as clean as possible and nice and sharp I then took BH Cosmetics Flawless Brow Highlighter and used the matte end to carve out my eyebrows and cover any strays.
Moving onto the shadow work. I used Lorac Eyeshadow Primer all over my lid. After waiting about a minute I dusted Thirteen from Urban Decay's Naked Smoky Palette to set the primer. I used High from the same palette for my brow bone highlight shimmer. I used a mix of MakeupGeek Cosmetics Peach Smoothie and Barcelona Beach shadows as a transition shade. I have the shade Unexpected on my lid, and Drama Queen in the outer corners. To brighten up the delicate purple shade, I enhanced it with the Morphe 35B Glam Palette and used the dusty purple shade to blend it all. That's it for the shadows.
Time to wing out some liner and pop on lashes. You can use whatever type of liner or brand you'd like. I used NYC New York Color liquid liner. You can get it from drugstores for about $3 but it is so dark and pigmented that it beats out $40 liners. I used my favorite House of Lashes Iconic Lash because I needed some drama in my life and these lashes are GORGEOUS. Blended them (by basically taking a mascara wand and trying to use it to glue my natural little stubbies to these,) and lined over the band with the same liner to have it be seamless.
My chicken wing of an arm making an appearance here. Moving onto face details, I applied Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste to any spots that weren't even coloring on my face and under my eyes before blending out with a damp beauty blender. I did not wear any foundation in this look. I contoured with the Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette to manipulate my face shape. Contouring is magic and I will never give it up even when it goes "out of style." Why? I enjoy having my cheeks not look as chubby, and making my chin look prominent, and having a smaller nose. I am highlighted for the gods using Becca Cosmetics Skin Perfecting Powder in Moonstone. For some added color to my face I added Nars Orgasm Blush (classic.) My lips are NYX Suede Liquid Lipstick in Sandstorm. This color is supposed to be a tan ish brown shade. I don't think it looks like that on me. It's also supposed to be matte. I was disappointed with the formulas for this line but I bought the collection so I use them from time to time.
I parted my hair down the center which is something I haven't done since like 5th grade. Then I made a regular 3 strand braid on one side, and a second basic 3 strand braid I then held one strand of it and pushed the other 2 up to create a snake looking braid. So two braids on one side of my head and another basic 3 strand on the other side. I used the simple braids to outline the more intricate one and create a thicker braided headband. I slept with my hair in a braid the night before so my hair had some good body and waves already and I just randomly curled about 7 strands. That's it for this Boho Glam look! Let me know what you think and what you want to see next!
