Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer Review | Flop
So Hourglass is a pretty pricey makeup line with a great reputation. I had 2 free samples of their Mineral Veil Primer. I was really excited because I have been searching for a good makeup primer. My problem with primers is that even with taking fantastic care of my skin, most primers make my skin break out BAD with like cystic acne. It is no bueno. Especially because my skin is generally clear save for the occasional chin zit around my time of the month (thanks a lot hormones.) Anyway's, I am sure it is the silicone that is in almost every primer that clogs my pores and causes the misery. I've been having issues with my foundation lasting so a primer was a must.

I had 2 sample packets of this product that lasted me about 4 days. My first impression of this product was "OH MY GOD I FINALLY FOUND MY HOLY GRAIL PRODUCT!" I will admit this product made my skin incredibly soft and helped me makeup look fantastic and last way longer. I went out and spent $52 on the 1 oz foundation not even caring about the steep price tag because I finally found a product that worked.
I went to Puerto Rico and brought this baby along. Well at this point I was using it over a week. I wasn't sure if my skin was acting up from climate change or what. Once I had about 3 cystic zits I connected the dots. This product was basically the devil as far as I was concerned. Now I was in a tropical paradise, where I planned on not wearing heavy foundation or anything, with one of the worst breakouts of my life. It took almost a month for my skin to clear up back to normal and I was miserable the entire time.
So if your skin is sensitive to makeup primers I would definitely NOT recommend this primer. If you can wear primers with no issues, then this may be the best primer of your life. I ended up returning it to Sephora and the employees were so confused on how I didn't love it. You can purchase it HERE.
