Vanity Room Tour
If you have watched any of my youtube videos you may be a big familiar with the room I film in. My house is currently on the market to sell so I figured I should share my room before it's too late. Some pictures of my acrylic organizers seen are almost a year old from when I started Glitterati Glamour. I wanted to share with you how I designed and decorated this personal space for myself on a budget.
The theme I tried to stick with was Purple Glam. Actually I originally wanted to design my room with all mirrored furniture. Once I saw the exorbitant prices and that would not be an option, I opted to use special paint that was supposed to make my walls give off the mirrored feel. It was a n pricey Martha Stewart paint named like Mirror Back or something like that, and required a special roller and application to apply.
I did splurge on my vanity mirror though. I will say that was my one big purchase outside my Ikea budget.
My beloved mirror (seriously that thing is my baby and I have seen my makeup game elevate since using it) is from Vanity Girl Hollywood. It is the Broadway Lighted Vanity Mirror in white. It's cool AF because it's dimmable lights and an outlet. It can be mounted on the wall or on the table top way which is what I have.

I actually built my vanity from 3 separate pieces from Ikea. If it looks familiar, that is because tons of youtubers have the same set up. The drawers are fabulous because they are much more shallow than your average. It's perfect size for makeup without wasting a lot of space. More bang for your buck I'd say.

Repurposed from a table set already owned and topped with a sheepskin rug from Ikea. I originally wanted one of those clear acrylic ghost chairs but they are overpriced. Buy Rug Here:
My brush holders are also from Ikea. I have lots of acrylic organizers too from either Cynthia Rowley, Home Goods, or Amazon. These are actually glass vases that were like $3 each. Also the silver crushed glass in the bottom is from Ikea for like an additional $2.
(Update: Since this photo was originally taken my brush collection has been seriously upgraded.)

Typically I film in front of this area of my room as I think the background is a little less distracting. I have decorated this dresser with an antique real silver jewelry box I found from the Treasure Island Flea Market back in San Francisco.
I have 1 other real silver jewelry plate that I use and then an additional one that is fake silver jewelry plate. I also have 4 mercury glass candle sticks. I have 2 over here and 2 on my vanity. Also I have 2 real candles and then 2 false light up candles that I switch back and forth.
The big bouquet you see here is actually like 200 dried roses. It started out as 100 long stemmed red roses that dried in that shape in that vase. Every time my boyfriend buys me flowers now, when they start to go I come and add them to my giant bouquet. It's super cute because he goes out of his way to buy me a new color every time he buys me roses.
Both the Audrey and Dresser are also from surprise surprise IKEA!
The dresser matches the brown black finish of my headboard and bedside tables. 2 of the handles are different because I was thinking of switching them to mercury glass handles to spice it up a little but changed my mind. Still in search of new drawer knobs.

My father surprised me with this Audrey Hepburn canvas. I then bought some LED strip lights from ikea to back light it. It originally had cardboard triangle supports in the back corners that were super obvious when illuminated. I then had my brother use some special tool to cut the supports out. It pays being in a family full of engineers. Then after the strip lights were attached it was mounted to the wall on some bracket things that made it pop out of the wall to shine.
