Summer Skin Care

Summer is here and the weather may be wrecking havoc on your skin. Higher humidity rates, temperatures, and time spent outdoors can cause increased sebum production, clogged pores, and zits. There are a few quick Summer Skin Care tips to having the best skin ever!

Lightweight Products

First things to do is focus on lightweight products. You don't want super rich and heavy products layered up on your face. Also look for double duty products that have multiple functions. The less products layered up the better. Serums and Essences are lighter and absorbed into the skin easier. My favorite is the Purlisse Eye Adore Serum here

Don't Skip Moisturizer

One common mistake is for people to skip moisturizer in the warmer months. Your skin can still get dehydrated and the moisturizer will help tremendously. Also moisturized skin means it won't be working overtime to try and product more sebum to coat the dry skin and clogging pores. Bonus: Makeup sticks better to healthy hydrated skin. My favorite is the Purlisse Pur Protect SPF 30 Essential Daily Moisturizer here.

Sun Protection

Sun protection is so important. Most people will make a minimal effort and think they're fine. This is an absolute must. Wear it on its own, wear a lotion with SPF, BB Creams with SPF, any makeup with SPF, hats, sunglasses, or anything. Find multi tasking products containing SPF and nail 2 birds with 1 stone/product. My favorite is Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Physical Defense SPF 30 here

Exfoliate

Get a good exfoliating product to use a few times a week to slough off dead skin cells for cell turn over. Exfoliating products can be both manually exfoliating or enzymatic exfoliating. I will share one of each of my 3 favorite types. First is a Enzymatic Exfoliating wipe that is so convenient. I use this on days I am too lazy to wash my face before bed but don't want to break out. It's also 100% natural, vegan, and gluten free. Pacifica Enzymatic Exfoliating Face Wipes.

The second is a microdermabrasion scrub from DermaE and is one of the best I have ever used. It is also 100% natural, vegan, and gluten free.

Gentle Face Wash

You will also need a daily gentle face wash to wash away the grime of the day. I have been loving the Murad Anti Aging Acne Face Wash that keeps my oil under control for hours. This is crucial to remove any product build up or dirt from the out doors. You can wash your face twice a day with this. Buy It Here.

Fight Free Radicals

Find a product that helps fight Free Radical Damage as well to prevent any skin damage or photo-aging. See my article on preventing 90% of wrinkles for more information on anti aging and what free radicals are. My favorite product to use here is the DermaE Daily Youth Serum here.

Be Aware Of Retinol Risks

Be aware that any use of Retinols and other medicated face creams can increase risk of sunburn and skin sensitivity to take extra caution if using these products. USE THAT SUN PROTECTION GUYS!

Protect These Random Body Parts

Don't forget to protect unexpected body parts from the sun. Pick lip balms containing SPF. Also they say you can tell a womans age through her chest and hands. You can botox your face and look younger, but your hands and chest will always tell the truth. Protect with SPF! Buy Sun Bum SPF Lip Balm Here.

Water Sleeping Mask

My last tip is to use a water sleeping mask at night to help rehydrate and heal my skin. I find this is especially necessary after a sun burn. I use the Laneige Water Sleeping mask and find that a sun burn that should take 3-4 days to subside will dissipate after 1-2. Buy it here.
