Giorgio Armani Beauty Eye Tints & Eccentrico Mascara Review

I recently received the Giorgio Armani Beauty Eye Tints and Eccentrico Mascara for testing purposes. Let me start out by explaining how excited I was to try these products. I've never owned anything Armani in my life so to be sent these beauty products was overwhelming. That being said, I think I over-hyped the idea of these in my head. I built of the expectation that because it was Armani Beauty it would be the best products I've ever used, and just so high quality and luxurious. Boy was I wrong...

My first impression was that the packaging was quite lackluster. It was your most basic lip gloss looking tube with a plain silver top. There was absolutely no writing on the bottles at all, and the only distinguishing factor was the small Armani Beauty logo. I almost felt as if I had received lab testers and not the finished product. I looked up all other Armani Beauty packaging to compare (because I had never thought it to be so plain and cheap looking,) and they all have the over all same theme, but these still look out of place.

The second thing I noticed when I went to swatch these on my hand where that the bottles weren't fully filled. I know there needs to be some air in it but smaller companies than Armani (cough cough Kylie Lip Kits,) have come under intense scrutiny and scandal for not having full products sent out to costumers. As soon as I took the applicator out, which is a basic doe foot applicator btw, it showed this big hollow/lack of product in the tube almost looking like I received a used product. That was only in the shade #12 Gold Ashes. Maybe this could be due to a different formulation for their Matte and Shimmer shades as #12 was the only shimmer I received.
The actual swatches were also quite disappointing. They were quite patchy and did not apply evenly AT ALL, and on top of that didn't have great coverage. It definitely needed 2 layers just to look mediocre. I wasn't sure on how opaque the formula was supposed to be since the term Tint can mean just a slight shade of a color that is still sheer. I read up on the product, and it claims to create "vibrant eye looks." So with that description I nixed the idea of it being a purposefully sheer formula. This is the rest of the product description taken directly from the products page on Sephora's website.
"This innovative formula transforms from liquid to solid, instantly adhering to the eyelid while providing 16 hours of smudge- and crease-proof wear. Formulated with a hold booster, a creamy polymer with glycerine that allows pure color pigments to blend together seamlessly and stay on lids, this tint is infused with a color vibrancy booster, which is enriched with natural pigments and pearls. This unique complex works together to evenly disperse high-density color. This eye tint features dynamic runway-inspired shades that can be used as an eye shadow or eyeliner, or layer them together for natural to glamorous looks."
Let's discuss that shall we? Words that stuck out to me were "pure color pigments," "color vibrancy booster,"and "high density color." I wholeheartedly disagree with all of those descriptions. What I do agree with is that the formula did have 16 hours of smudge and crease proof wear without priming or setting the product. That is the 1 positive piece I have taken from this product. They were a huge disappointment.

The ease of use? Who decided to give it a doe foot applicator? That is NOT the tool I would have chosen to apply this. I used both my fingers and brushes to try and blend out the darker shade #21 Fur Smoke in my shade. It was so sheer I had to try and go back and add another layer and it still looked like literal poop on my eyelid. Actual shit people! I was trying to keep an open mind and used them a few more times to see if I was the problem, or if I really did hate this product.
I have 3 of the Armani Beauty Eye Tints that were sent to me. The shades I have are #12 Gold Ashes (shimmer highlight shade,) #24 Nude Smoke (flesh/nude shade,) and #21 Fur Smoke (poop colored shade.) They retail for $39 each. You would have to spend $117 to have the same 3 shades I received. Please just save your money, this is not a product to splurge that much money on for such a flop of a product. The Eccentrico Mascara on the other hand, was an amazing product so read on to find out more.

The Eccentrico Eyes To Kill Mascara packaging is also very plain. I like to think it's a hidden gem though. The wand on this mascara prevents any clumping and really did lengthen and add volume to my itty bitty eyelashes. I am telling you the way this separated all the lashes made it appear like I had so many more lashes than I really do. I always check for flaking too and this never flaked the entire day. I even teared up watching a puppy commercial and it didn't even smudge. The mascara retails for $32 which I believe is a steal for a luxury brand such as Giorgio Armani Beauty. I think it has results similar to the Benefit They're Real mascara. You can shop it on Sephora's website here: http://go.magik.ly/ml/1j6a/
