Even though I love glamour, I also have a darker side. This is my green glam grunge look created using Makeup Geek Duochrome Shadows.
This look calls for some groomed brows, red, brown, and green shadows, a mauve colored lip, winged liner, and either a contour kit or bronzer.
So as I was saying, Makeup Geek has a whole line of duochrome shadows. That means they reflect 2 different colors. I own Ritzy which looks green in the pan, and swatches a dark cranberry shade. It's honestly the weirdest thing but having those two completely opposite colors makes for some fun and dramatic possibilities. They are all super affordable at only $6 a pan and you can shop them here.
As always, I start with my eyebrows. I primed them with Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Primer. This step is only necessary for anyone growing out their brows, or who have unruly long hairs that need to be kept in place. After priming them with the waxy pencil and combing through with my trusty spoolie brush, I start with my inner brows and use Brow Wiz. Brow wiz is a very fine tip eyebrow pencil great for faking individual hairs. I use this on my inner brows where I want them lighter and more natural looking. After, I trace and shade in the rest of my eyebrows with the new Brow Definer pencil. This product is amaaaaazing. And the spoolie brush on it is just as incredible as on the Brow Wiz pencil but much larger. The larger spoolie really is a game changer and blends everything to look super natural. Because my eyebrow hairs are so long and obnoxious, I also have to set them with Clear Brow Gel after evening those babies out.
I applied eyeshadow primer and set it with an almost white shadow. After setting it, I took Makeup Geek's Shimma Shimma Shadow and used it to highlight my brow bone. I work my way down when doing my eyeshadow. Next I mixed Creme Brule and Peach Smoothie as a transition shade to blend my highlight and my crease. I used the shade Bitten in my crease. Because red is a hard color to blend, I used Cocoa Bear in my outer v to make it more natural. My lid shade is Dirty Martini which is a deep matte olive green. Now that I had both base colors of the duochrome shade I applied Ritzy in the center of my lid to make it POP.
The entire duochrome collection is just so unique and beautiful and definitely going to be my next purchases.
After I was happy with my shadow, I moved on to creating a kill a man sharp wing. I used NYC black liquid liner. It's only $3 from most drugstores, but beats out luxury lines. The secret is to wipe excess product off the brush before applying. This liner is the blackest black. Once I got my perfect winged liner, I popped on my favorite House of Lashes Iconic Lashes.
After I finished with my eyes, I moved on to perfecting my face. Makeup is about enhancing what you already have, not a mask to hide behind. I suffer from dark circles so I applied a yellow creamy concealer in inverted triangle shapes to try and counteract what nature gave me. After blending it out with a damp beauty blender, I applied my trustee drugstore foundation. L'Oreal Pro Matte Infallible liquid foundation with my Beauty Blender as well. Beauty Blenders are magic little objects sent from above. I set my face with Ben Nye Neutral Set to create a powder finish to continue with the rest of my makeup.
I contoured and highlighted my face using the Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette. I actually applied it heavier than usual, but liked the outcome so I went with it. After chiseling out some cheekbones and creating a prominent chin, I highlighted with the Becca Moonstone Shimmering Skin Perfector. I wanted to be glowing. Of course I still needed some color in my cheeks so added my Nars Orgasm blush. This look would not be complete without a matte mauve lip. I actually used 2. The first is Jeffree Star Cosmetics Celebrity Skin liquid lipstick. After eating some oily pasta, I touched it up with MAC's Velvet Teddy lipstick. I hope you glams enjoyed this look. Let me know what else you want me to create for you!
